About Me.
I am 58 and studying Art Practice Ba Hons at the UOS in Bury St Edmunds. I live in Croxton Norfolk, in the house my husband Eric and I built in 2012. Something I would never have dreamed of thirty-eight years ago, when in the mid- winter we were huddled around a little fan heater, watching a portable black and white television. But, ’ life’s rich tapestry’, has thankfully, woven me a warm and fulfilling life, stitched together with the addition of my two lovely children who are now grown up. My home is on the edge of the beautiful Thetford Forest overlooking rural fields. My yearning for the beauty of nature is instinctive. It was while living by the shores of Loch Lomond five years ago, that I rekindled my creative side and felt I wanted to be able to share with others my need to create while being inspired by beautiful scenery. I am hopeful that my study will be the vessel which will provide me with the knowledge and confidence to run a business providing art holidays on the West Coast Highlands of Scotland. I generally enjoy using mixed media in my creative endeavors, using the flexibility and the creative freedom this use of medium affords, while being mindful of good design and importance of composition and visual impact. I would like my artwork to appeal to a cross section of art lovers and I hope to appeal to a varied demographic. I enjoy printing, collage making, abstract and illustration work. I would love to be a master of these practices, but the satisfaction is in trying to achieve the best outcomes I am capable of and hopefully you will also find something alluring and interesting about my work. I would love to give people the opportunity to discover their own creative pathway and to facilitate their inner artist by providing art holidays in the beautiful Scottish Highlands. DEBBIE BYFORD |
